Marie Curie Cancer Care
Cancer is the UK’s biggest killer. Every year it claims the lives of more than 150,000 people, with a further one million living with the disease at any one time.
Established in 1948 – the same year as the NHS – Marie Curie Cancer Care is now one of the UK’s largest charities. Employing more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, we provide care to around 25,000 people with cancer every year, along with support for their families.
Marie Curie Cancer Care will care for you from start to finish – free vest, training advice and cheerers along the route. Join our Daffodil team and help us care for more people with cancer in the comfort of their own home.
For further information contact Elspeth Utterson by telephone on 0131-456-3728, or visit our website at www.mariecurie.org.uk.
Royal National Lifeboat Institution
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. To go on saving lives at sea means training and equipping our vital volunteer crews which costs money and, as a charity, the RNLI relies on your support.
Each year it costs over £1,000 to keep each of the 4,500 volunteer lifeboat crew members trained and ready to launch in all weathers, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The RNLI receives no central government funding to turn these ordinary people into extraordinary lifesavers.
You can be extraordinary too by choosing to run in aid of the RNLI. We have assured places up for grabs and we offer all our runners a package of support, including training plan, fundraising advice and running vest. We’ll even lend you an individual promotional ‘lifeboat’ for the day and be there to congratulate you on crossing the finish line.
Get in training and become a lifesaver today. For further information, call 01738 642999, email email@example.com or visit our website at www.rnli.org.uk/events.
